The third day with my Mentor

Tuesday April 22, 2014                                                                                                                 4 hours
For the third day, my mentor had me went over the information that he had me gather with out his convenience. He had me gather information for transistors, digital circuits, capacitive and inductive reactance. I demonstrate what I understood and ask questions after I had demonstrated. The demonstration to my mentor went well and we started off by talking about the resistance in current flow. He had described how resistance work and had pointed out that the lest resistance the faster the current moves. He then explain that some resistance have color codes and that each of them have a different meaning. The first 2 are the valves, 3rd is multiplier, 4th is tolerance and 5th is watts. Then he provide a table that shows how you can calculate the resistance frequency number. We then went further in AC and DC precise voltage range, by drawing voltage waves. Then I learn that the wave length is called "Peak to Peak". We went on to talk about Inductive reactive and Capacitive reactance, as he explain that it's function and it's resonated frequency range. Then he explain it in parallel and series form. The series was called Tank Circuit and parallel is Band Pass Circuit. He then show me how you firmly calculate the frequency. We then talked about coils inductors and how the voltage transports faster if the coil is wrapped around a iron cored. He stated that the material, wire size, and coil circular size would make a difference. We then finally finish talking about Diode and Zener Diode. We went over Forward Dias and how the only provide one way current and how Reverse Dias can react both ways. Through today's hours, I had no real challenges, but the usual of comprehended unknown information. I over came that usual challenge, by taking notes and later searching them up. I personally learn how calculate different the frequency, that I can take to an advantage.
